The mission of the Environmental – Food Biotechnology Group is to carry out basic and applied research and develop biotechnology products for the environment.
Research directions of the Department of Environmental Biotechnology:
- Research on pollution treatment caused by agricultural production.
The Department of Environmental Biotechnology focuses on researching methods and developing preparations to treat pollution sources arising in the process of agricultural production such as: treatment of sediment in catfish ponds to create organic fertilizers; develop a model of biological padding to treat odors in livestock.
- Research on converting agricultural by-products into useful products.
Besides, the Biotechnology Department is also interested in researching methods to convert agricultural by-products into useful products. For example, converting oil cake into probiotics foliar fertilization by microbial enzymes; develop a process for bio-soil production for the cultivation of vegetables, flowers and ornamental plants; decompose hyacinth biomass to create biogas.
